Windows Phone 8 Developer Day

Globe Labs together with Microsoft Philippines and Nokia Philippines invites you to the first ever Windows Phone 8 Developer Day on November 16 (Friday), 8:30 am to 6:30 pm @ Globe Corporate Showroom, Valero Telepark, 111 Valero Street, Makati City, (map).

Celebrate this day with us and get to learn how to build apps in the recently released Windows Phone 8, last October 29. Our guest speaker, Mr. Matthias Shapiro, Microsoft Windows Phone Evangelist, will give a discussion and walkthrough of the following topics:
* Windows Phone 8 Overview
* Foundational Practices, application lifecycle, data storage, MVVM, Background Workers
* Notifications and extensions to the platform
* Tiles, Push Notifications
* Sensors and new sensor-related APIs
* Getting your App ready for Windows Phone Store
* Preparing for Windows 8 to Windows Phone 8 code sharing and porting

We'll be also joined by Mike Smith of Nokia to demo the latest WP8 Nokia Lumia Phones.

The workshop will include hands-on training, thus we ask our participants to bring their machines (laptops, portable PCs) to be able to try out building applications in WP8.
