This hackathon is brought to you by U.S. Department of State, U.S. Embassy, Manila Philippines, USAID, World Food Programme (Philippines), Globe Labs, GDG Philippines and Open Data Initiative.
Hackathon participants are asked to create apps or services related or based on identified solution sets (http://goo.gl/oSEnBD) by participants from the 1st Philippine TechCamp last May 5 and 6. These solution sets were identified based on the collaborative efforts of several technologists, subject matter experts, NGOs, members of the LGUs and local government agencies from May 5 and 6 TechCamp sessions.
Individuals or teams of developers may pitch their ideas for a maximum of five minutes to a panel of judges composed of Jay De Jesus, Emerging Media Specialist for Public Affairs, US Embassy; Ely Apao, User Experience Manager, OLX.ph; Pia Bernal, Social Enterprise Investments Manager of Kickstart Ventures, Inc.; and Junito Berja, GIS Specialist, World Food Programme.
The apps will be judged based on the following criteria: Relevance, 30%; Innovativeness, 25%, Visuals (UI/UX), 15%; Sustainability, 10%; Completeness, 10%; and Presentation, 10%.
Top three applications shall be selected. A grant from USAID of PhP 30,000 will be awarded to the Local Government Unit (LGU) identified with the app where it has potential of being implemented. This grant will be used to tweak, and modify their applications that will be implemented at the identified local government units.

A gentle reminder regarding the dress code of the building, participants and guests are asked to observe casual attire, and refrain from wearing shorts, rubber slippers or sandos.

6:00 PM : Registration and Networking
7:00 PM : Welcome Remarks
7:10 PM : Overview of the hackathon and brief discussion of the 1st Philippine TechCamp solution statements
7:30 PM : (Training) Design Thinking and Paper-based Prototyping. with Ely Apao, UX Manager at OLX Philippines.
8:30 PM : Let the Hackathon begin!
(Participants may opt to stay at Globe Valero Telepark).
Day 2, May 10 (Saturday)
7:00 AM : Hacking continues
12:30 PM : Deadline of submissions of entries.
1:00 PM : (Training) Creativity and Design Thinking, C. McNair Wilson, a former Disney Imagineer and currently CEO/Co-founder of Assume Brilliance Group
2:00 PM : Presentation and judging.
5:00 PM : Awarding Ceremonies
